Job overview

Rockwood Academy is an 11-16 co-educational Academy with a new Principal, Mr Fuzel Choudhury. The Principal, and newly established senior leadership team, are seeking inspirational, professional and dynamic teachers to build upon our strengths and take the Academy forward on the next stage of our journey.

Rockwood Academy is a popular school at the heart of the local community. Our recent Ofsted inspection (March 2016) rated the academy as ‘Good’ in every category including pupil outcomes; quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and effectiveness of leadership and management. This is a tremendous achievement considering even nationally very few schools go straight from ‘Special Measures’ to ‘Good’.

We are seeking to appoint a talented and engaging Teacher of Science to join our innovative team for September 2016. For a suitably experienced candidate, a ‘golden hello’ can be negotiated. Newly qualified teachers are also welcome to apply.

This is a pivotal stage in the development of the new Academy and a wealth of opportunities exist for ambitious and committed teachers. If you are a talented professional with passion, commitment and resilience, and if you are driven to make a difference to the lives and futures of young people, we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant learning community that will offer fantastic opportunities for professional development and will fully prepare the successful candidate for the next step in their career.

The Academy is sponsored by the Core Education Trust and is built on its values of Collaboration, Opportunity, Respect and Excellence. The Trust provides outstanding support, and is committed to transforming learning and aspirations for all of our young people.

Visits to the Academy are warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact Hays Education if you would like to arrange this.
