We seek to appoint a committed and dynamic Teacher of Science who is forward thinking, innovative and with ambition and moral purpose to support the development of our pupils. The successful applicant will share these values and play an active part in the Science curriculum at all levels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant department where pupil progress in separate sciences is above national. You will be able to enthuse and motivate our pupils with your passion for the subject and creative teaching, presence and personality. You will also contribute to engaging the local community as part of our well attended STEM events and have the benefit of working with a team who have a wealth of external science links with local universities. About Hillside High School
Hillside High School in Bootle, Merseyside, is a mixed comprehensive secondary school for children aged 11-16. At full capacity, the school has a pupil roll of 970.
Hillside High School was formed in 1972 when Bootle Girls' Grammar School combined with Balliol County Secondary School. It was on two sites until 1987. when a new school building was completed. The school converted to academy status in March 2015 under the umbrella of the Wade Deacon Trust.
The school works hard to ensure that all students are encouraged to reach their academic potential, with its most able pupils in all subject areas supported and extended through challenging cross-curricular projects, clubs and educational visits. However, all individual talents and passions are equally valued and nurtured.
Hillside has strong international links and pupils regularly visit schools to work with their counterparts in countries including Malaga, France, Slovakia, Germany and Italy.
