We are looking for an outstanding, organised and innovative curriculum leader to join and lead a dedicated and successful Science department. The department achieves outstanding results, and in 2015 and 2016 it was ranked in the top percentile in terms of value added nationally. The Science Department prides itself in its unique partnerships with Imperial College London and The Royal Society of Medicine which provide exciting opportunities for our students to enrich their learning. At KS3, the Academy are developing the use of technology in the classroom through using Chromebooks. Our KS4 cohorts have benefitted from our forward-thinking and collaborative approach towards adapting to the new GCSE curriculum which has been recognised by exam boards. At KS5, the Academy is proud to be an IB school. We offer IB Biology, Chemistry, Physics and ESS as part of the IB Diploma Programme, while we also offer BTEC Applied Science as part of the IB Career-related Programme.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and an excellent classroom practitioner who is committed to student success and development. There may be additional responsibility for the right candidate. Experience of planning and delivering GCSE lessons is essential, as the job will involve working closely with the Director of Learning, Science to continue developing our existing provision, as well as plan for the new GCSEs for the first sitting in 2018. The willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities is also desirable. Most importantly, there is a real opportunity to contribute to a team that is making a difference.
