We are seeking to appoint a permanent, full time, teacher of Science to teach in this selective Grammar School for Boys. The successful applicant will be required to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics to students in Years 7-9 and GCSE Chemistry and/or Physics to students in Years 10-11. Applications are welcome from teachers at any stage in their career.

King Edward VI Aston School is one of the five King Edward VI Grammar Schools in Birmingham.

Applicants should send a completed application form and a covering letter, including the names and addresses of two referees, to the Headmaster, Mr C. Parker.

King Edward VI Aston School is an academy school for boys based in Birmingham for students aged 11-18. It is a Christian school.

A selective grammar school for boys and one of the twelve schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham.  It has been part of the Aston community since 1883 and has strong links with many local schools and organisations primarily through the work of its Sports Partnership.

King Edward VI Aston School has the highest expectations of its students, not only in in terms of their academic performance, but also in terms of their commitment to extra-curricular activities be it in sport, drama, music, or wider community service.

By the age of 18 the school expects all of its students to be articulate, well-educated young men, capable of independent thought with the confidence and flexibility to face future challenges. In addition, it expects students to leave the school understanding the importance of tolerance and the value of integrity.

At the school, there is a belief in the importance of offering students a broad and balanced curriculum providing opportunities for them to achieve at the very highest level.

Healthy competition is said to be central to the ethos of the school. Students are also afforded the opportunity to take up high levels of leadership and responsibility at the school.
