The Post: Teacher of Science

From September 2017 we are looking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Science to join the College. 

The successful candidate will be part of an exceptional department which is both extremely popular and successful. Despite the non-selective nature of the school, over three quarters of our Year 11s take Triple Science GCSE – with huge success. In 2016 all three Sciences achieved over 80% A*/A. Similarly, at A level results are outstanding with all three subjects significantly exceeding 50% A*/A.  The challenge for the successful applicant will be not only to maintain this level of success, but ensure the already high standards continue to rise. The opportunities which Science present for students are central to the philosophy of the school. As a result, this appointment is crucial to the continued development of Jumeirah College.

The successful applicant will have:

· A certified teaching qualification with exceptional subject knowledge. 

· Experience teaching Physics and/or Chemistry to A-Level or equivalent. We are seeking to appoint talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individuals. You should have a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching. 

· Significant experience of the National Curriculum for England. 

· B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent. 

· The willingness to commit to Extra Curricular activities.

In 2023 over 99% of GCSE results were 9-4 out of which 47% were 9, and at A level over 44% of all grades were A*/A with over 77% A*/B.
