Higham Lane School is a high-performing 11-18 comprehensive academy with approximately 1425 students on roll, based on an attractive site in the north east of Nuneaton on the Warwickshire-Leicestershire border.
We are now looking to make a permanent appointment for January 2019 of a dynamic full-time permanent Teacher of Science (Chemistry) to role model high quality learning and teaching and to maximise the achievement of students. We believe this is an exciting opportunity for a newly-qualified or experienced teacher to join our successful, high-performing and friendly Science Department.
We believe this is an exciting opportunity, which will make a key contribution to further enhancing the learning of our students. We will enhance the skills you require for your next promotion, if that is what you seek. The Science Department has 9 full-time and 2 part-time members of staff. Three teachers act as Assistant Subject Leaders in Science. We have two full-time laboratory technicians and three part-time laboratory assistants. There are 11 laboratories, all of which have digital projectors installed.
Applications are invited from suitably-qualified, experienced and enthusiastic teachers to teach Science at Key Stage 3 and Chemistry at Key Stage 4. The ability to teach Chemistry at A-level is essential, although having no prior experience of teaching A-level Chemistry would not prevent suitable candidates from being shortlisted, if they meet the person specification.
