Ribblesdale High School is a co-educational secondary school based in Lancashire, for students aged 11-16. It is a non-denominational school founded in 1932.

The school is situated in the market town of Clitheroe, at the heart of the Ribble Valley.

Ribblesdale High School has a long and distinguished tradition of meeting the needs of many young people who have grown up, lived in and appreciated the local area and contributed to its economy.

Independence is central to pupils’ experiences at the secondary school. Students are encouraged to be responsible in the community and in their learning.

Ribblesdale High School prides itself on what it considers to be excellent pastoral care and on challenging its students to perform. High aspirations for each pupil help to secure a culture of ambition and aspiration. Staff are expected to personalise learning to secure the best for each and every child.

“Teaching is good. Teachers’ questioning is used well to push students to think hard and express themselves fully. This enhances their oral and communication skills. Students’ behaviour is good. They conduct themselves well in lessons and as they move around the school. Students’ attitudes to learning are positive. They work hard and follow instructions well. They enjoy their learning because activities capture their interest. Students’ attendance is above average and they are always punctual to school and lessons. They arrive to lessons well prepared for learning.”
