Our set of values, “Ullathorne Way”, through which we all strive to live and grow is immersed into the fabric of our school. Indeed, Ofsted, who rated our school “Good” in March 2019 said “your curriculum is underpinned by your Catholic values and encourage all pupils to engage in activities within the school and beyond".

Our Governors wish to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher of Science with a passion for teaching and learning and with the skills and abilities to engage and enthuse different types of learners and to work productively as part of a team.

Our students are looking for a teacher with passion for their subject, drive and creativity.

The position is a full time fixed term contract starting from the Summer term to the end of the academic year 2023.

Our Academy moto is “Achieving together in Faith”.

We have a fantastic commitment to professional development and believe that the right person can make a real difference. We spend dedicated time on professional development through pedagogy led sessions, breakouts, coaching and other professional activities.

All our employees uphold the Catholic ethos of the school regardless of their own belief system, as we strive to provide the best education for our young people.

The traditional values of the secondary school include everything from achieving through endeavour and placing an importance on hard work, to working in partnership with parents and the local community and wearing the Bishop Ullathorne school uniform with pride. A sense of belonging combined with strong pastoral care will support children at this important time of their life.

Ofsted report

“[The headteacher] and other leaders make frequent checks on the performance of pupils and teachers. The information from the checks enables you to pinpoint effective practice and where further improvements are needed. There is a well-thought-out programme of training and support for teachers that focuses on individual and whole-school priorities. The majority of subject leaders know their departments well and lead improvements effectively.”
