We are part of the Sidney Stringer Academy Multi Academy Trust, which consists of five schools; Sidney Stringer Academy, Ernseford Grange Community Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School), Radford Primary Academy and Sidney Stringer Primary Free School.
Teaching and Learning is at the heart of everything we do alongside the belief that every child can achieve no matter the barriers. Developing our staff to be the best they can be in whatever field they choose is incredibly important and a variety of bespoke CPD opportunities is a key component of our continued improvement in high-quality teaching and learning as we invest heavily in this aspect of school life. This year we are launching a new, vastly improved CPD package offering a variety of pathways alongside investment in NPQs, Masters accreditations and other external professional development opportunities. Teacher of Science
If you choose to work at Ernesford you will be joining a science team who are dedicated to developing in their staff, a passion and enthusiasm for their science specialism and translating this amongst our young people. Our aim is to have specialist science teachers for each discipline, we have a Head of Physics, Chemistry and Biology to ensure that our specialist teachers are able to challenge and support one another be it through subject knowledge enhancement, pedagogy or classroom culture. We are incredibly supportive of one another and look to share planning and resources through our science department specific Google website. We are fully supported in using enrichment to develop the love of science amongst our students and are actively encouraged to take students on trips and we work with a number of outside agencies and organisations for the betterment of our curriculum delivery and driving improvements in the science capital of our students.
We are looking for a confident classroom practitioner to join our science family who shares with us;
● A moral imperative to serve a community with a high level of deprivation
● A strong, no excuses philosophy who will expect the same high standard from all students regardless of their background
● Integrity, drive and commitment
● Excellent or developing subject knowledge
● An evidence informed insight into effective classroom practice.
● The ability to support and guide colleagues to reflect deeply on their own practice.
● Ambition to develop/adapt their teaching and learning practices to ignite a passion for science amongst our young people
● A strong classroom presence to achieve high levels of student engagement and progress
