This vacancy is an excellent opportunity for a talented practitioner, who can have impact and make a positive difference to the lives of our young people. You will be joining Parkside at an exciting time in our incredible journey. Our last OFSTED Inspection – April 2017, rated us as Good in all areas and we were awarded National Support School status in March 2018. Both of these awards give Parkside choices into the future and in its next stage of development.
From September 2019, the Science department will comprise, Director of Science and Technology, the Head of Science and three teachers of Science in addition to the successful applicant to this post. Students at Parkside study a broad and balanced Science curriculum in preparation for combined or separate sciences at GCSE. The Science department is well-resourced, with dedicated classrooms and an extensively planned curriculum.

Parkside Community School is a good school with sustained improvement over time. In 2022 the school achieved a progress 8 score of +0.61, following a score of +0.59 in 2019 when performance figures were last published. This makes Parkside the highest achieving school in Derbyshire for progress in three of the last four years in which performance figures have been published.
