Job overview

A fantastic opportunity to be involved in a school that changes children's lives.

Are you a resilient tenacious teacher that would like a new challenge? Do you have what it takes to make a difference to students that really need the best teachers? Would you like to work in a school that offers regular coaching for staff and students, has small groups of between 5 and 8 students all supported by a learning support assistant?

Les Voies School is a specialist educational provision for students with significant social, emotional and mental health difficulties and we require an innovative and dynamic teacher with experience of successfully enabling children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties to fulfil their potential from 1st January 2021 or before if possible.

The successful candidate will have the ability to build excellent relationships with school staff, parents and professionals from other agencies, have high expectations of students, and have resilience in managing the significant demands of working within an SEMH context.

This is a great opportunity to make a difference and take a new direction in your career. Our school motto is ‘The Amazing Everyday’ and that is what we aspire to achieve. The aims of the school are to ensure that the students SEMH needs are met and that they have opportunities commensurate with their peers. Our recent HMI inspection identified,

'A great deal of success has been achieved in reducing the majority of young people’s barriers to learning, enabling them to develop relevant skills and knowledge'. The school’s 'senior leaders, middle leaders, teachers and learning support assistants (LSA) are fully committed to this vision and strive to implement it for the benefit of the young people'.

Applicants should have a belief that every student deserves an opportunity to be successful and that we all deserve a second chance when things go wrong. Applicants should be confident in the use of target setting, monitoring and assessment procedures that are an integral part of a professional approach to behaviour management. An understanding and awareness of personal and social skills work is also desirable.

We have a very strong team staff and are looking for a teacher with the passion and drive to be part of a team that can really take the school forward in the next part of its journey.
