Teacher of Science required at St Peter’s Catholic School Guildford

To start in September 2018  

MPS/UPS Fringe plus £1000 Golden Hello payment  

St Peter’s is an extremely successful school and Sixth Form set in attractive grounds on the outskirts of Guildford. Standards are high and over 80% of students regularly gain 5+ A*- C grades at GCSE. Facilities and resources are very good. Our school intake increased in September 2017.  

We are known for our strong academic and pastoral work. Community is a key aspect of our ethos; relationships between students and staff are excellent. We offer an induction programme for new staff including support for teachers who have not worked in a Catholic School before.  

We have a full-time vacancy arising in September, and are interested in candidates qualified in any of the three disciplines. There is also scope to offer suitably experienced candidates additional responsibility if desired.  

The Science department comprises six full-time and four part-time qualified Science teachers. Three technicians (part-time) support the work of the department. In Years 7 and 8, staff teach all three Sciences and from Year 9 onwards, wherever possible, they will teach their specialism (or a maximum of two subjects) up to GCSE standard.
