We are seeking an outstanding, enthusiastic, and inspirational Teacher of Science to join our dynamic team at The Heath School. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students, work alongside great staff and contribute to the wider opportunities we offer our young people.

About the Role

As a Teacher of Science, you will:

·        Deliver engaging and innovative lessons across KS3 and KS4.

·        Inspire students to achieve their full potential in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

·        Plan, prepare, and assess in line with the National Curriculum and school policies.

·        Support students’ academic progress and personal development.

·        Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

·        Develop your practice and grow as a teacher in line with The Heath Standard for Learning.

·        Liaise with parents/carers and other agencies where appropriate.

·        Model our values of Kindness, Integrity and Tenacity whilst having a passion for our students to Know more; Do more; Be more.

·        Provide pastoral care through your role as a form tutor.

·        Offer extra-curricular opportunities suited to your personal skills, expertise and interests.

·        Ensure the safeguarding of all children.

 About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an emerging or experienced teacher of Science with the drive and commitment to deliver excellent results, with the capacity to move the outcomes of our students to above national.
  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Be an advocate for the subject, with innovative ideas for engaging teaching and learning.
  • Be passionate about working with children and seeing them flourish.
  • Have strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Be organised, proactive and professional.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.

Our school sits in the heart of the community of Runcorn and has been an extremely popular choice for students and parent/carers for many, many years. We are oversubscribed with 1200 students on roll. We have consistently been the highest performing school in the area, outcomes have been extremely positive and are in line or above national average and students have moved on to achieve their aspirations. The Heath School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Cheshire serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Runcorn has approximately 1201 students on record. It is part of The Heath Family (NW) Multi-Academy Trust.
