Drapers’ Academy is an oversubscribed, good school, with an outstanding leadership and management and a part of Drapers’ Multi-Academy Trust. We now seek a Teacher of Science, with preference to those with either a Physics or Chemistry background, to join our faculty and become an integral part of the school. A skilled and aspirant practitioner you will contribute to the successes of this critical curriculum area and be fully committed to driving standards and attainment even higher.

About Drapers’ Academy

Drapers’ Academy is a co-educational secondary school with sixth form, located in Romford, Essex, for students aged 11-19. Drapers’ Academy has a house system, which is an integral part of school life. Pupils and staff are assigned to a house when they join the academy, with younger siblings assigned to the same house as their brother or sister.
The school converted to academy status in September 2010 and specialises in maths and science.
Values and vision
Drapers’ Academy aims to deliver a personalised approach to learning, in order to promote enjoyment among pupils. The school encourages an ethos of personal responsibility and self-discipline. Teachers expect excellent behaviour, high levels of attendance and punctuality, and a natural and positive respect for others.
Drapers’ Academy intends to be recognised as a centre of excellence where learning is fun and high standards are achieved.

The academy’s improvement is due to outstanding leadership and management. The Principal and senior team have developed highly effective methods for monitoring and raising the quality of teaching. Middle leaders have played an increasingly effective role in raising standards in most subjects … Students are taught well.
