We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Science. The successful candidate will join our high achieving Science Faculty, which is committed to delivering excellent teaching and learning.

With excellent career opportunities and a dynamic environment for learning, we invite applications from newly qualified teachers as well as more experienced colleagues. Faculty members teach mainly within their specialism but are expected to be able to teach all three sciences to GCSE. In this supportive Faculty, teaching teams at KS4 are arranged to ensure that colleagues teach to their strengths. Practical work is valued highly and is an essential component of teaching from Years 7 to 13. There are opportunities to teach A level Sciences; applications from candidates with A level Physics experience are particularly welcome.

We would be delighted to show you around our school. Please call Jane Gaherty on 01442 863605 to arrange a visit.

School Information: Ashlyns is a thriving school with a rich heritage. Our Georgian style building was constructed in 1935 as a foundling hospital. It was originally built to provide for the most vulnerable in society and we are immensely proud that our school still emphasises traditional values of respect, honesty and hard work. These values, combined with high expectations, innovation and creativity, mean that Ashlyns is a school which encourages and helps students to develop and make the most of their abilities and interests. Ashlyns expanded from an upper school to a full secondary school in September 2013. There are approximately 1200 students on roll including 200 students in the Sixth Form. The school, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in September 2014, is focused on rapid improvement in results with the aspiration to be rated outstanding at our next inspection.
