Job overview

We encourage you to read our website very carefully and familiarise yourself with our 2014 Ofsted report, our prospectus, candidate information pack and application form for the post. What will be clear to you is that you are applying to an extremely successful school and one with a decidedly clear ethos of achievement. We moved, in November 2012, into a brand new £80 million school. The school became an Academy in September 2013 and was recognised by the Department for Education as a Teaching School in 2015. In 2017, the school’s results profile placed it in the top 5% of schools nationally for the sixth consecutive year. The school is committed to developing its teachers and to fostering the development of outstanding teaching. The school is a personalised community which is committed to creating careers for people. It is experienced in supporting NQTs and indeed enjoys this aspect of staff development but it has had equal success in fostering the careers of colleagues who join us having taught in other schools or who have had other careers.

Teachers provide outstanding Science teaching. Science results were ranked in the 3rd percentile in 2017 and there is a long tradition of high performance in the sciences. There are generous resources and all teachers have their own beautifully equipped laboratory which includes a range of interactive technology. Science colleagues benefit from the participation in the Prince’s Teaching Institute. Our science team is supported by talented and experienced practitioners who exemplify the highest of standards in their practice across each discipline. According to ability, students study triple or dual science and there is significant take up at A-level for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The subject is held in the highest of regard and is exceptionally popular amongst students and deeply valued by parents.

Teachers at Holland Park School enjoy a significant bettering of conditions in as far as they are given an additional five-day holiday in the summer and, for all staff,  INSET and training is offered during the working week and not part of discrete days.  Members of staff on the Main Pay Range are the beneficiaries of the Holland Park allowance, a generous benefit intended to support colleagues in their first years of teaching.

An application form that should be completed electronically is available from the school’s website: http://www.hollandparkschool.co.uk/vacancies/train-and-teach-with-us. Early application is encouraged as we will seek to interview and appoint on receipt. The closing date for applications is  Wednesday 11th April 2018 at 09.00.
