Is the next stage of your career in a school described by OFSTED as having an “exciting forward-thinking curriculum for science…Ensures that pupils and learners flourish with high-quality experiences in science”?

Can you enhance a Science department with 2018 Progress 8 score highlights including an average of 0.35 across all qualifications, GCSE Biology at 0.8, GCSE Chemistry at 0.35, GCSE Combined Science at 0.8 and BTEC Animal Care at 1.56?

Would you like be part of team that is raising the bar for Science students in the North West with 52.8% of the non-selective cohort taking the 3 x GCSE Separate Science route in 2018, a 17% increase on 2017 and substantially above local and national averages?

Liverpool Life Sciences UTC is seeking an experienced Science practitioner with the ability to teach across all Science areas at Key Stage 4 and ideally offering the ability to deliver either A-level Physics or A-level Chemistry. A proven track record of enabling students to exceed expectations is desirable, as is the willingness to participate in the remarkable Project Based Learning that takes place in our Innovation Labs.

A visit to our unique school is encouraged before application so you can see what the UTC has to offer Science teachers; it is unlike anything else. If that is not possible, take a look at our Twitter feed or website for an inside look at how we are taking students further and faster and encouraging them to see that, “every day is an interview”.

With one of the largest sixth forms in the region, we and as a member of the Northern Schools Trust, the UTC offers fantastic opportunities for staff to develop their careers within the context of a group of exceptional schools.

The Life Sciences UTC is a high performing, non-selective specialist Science and Healthcare College for students aged 14-19. As the first of its kind in the UK, we have demonstrated that it is possible for education to work hand in hand with industry and higher education to ensure life changing opportunities for students.  As we go into our 5th year, we are now one of the biggest local sixth form providers in the Liverpool City Region.

We have secured a good Ofsted, with Outstanding for our behaviour, welfare and personal development. Our results are improving. We are making solid progress with a comprehensive intake of students and are pushing harder for ever better results. Most importantly, we ensure decisions we make about the learning programmes for our students are entirely driven by their future career plans and we do everything possible to support them to achieve their goals. The school has an economically diverse student intake, a fact reflective of the local community, and exists on a newly-renovated and updated site with a wide range of modern teaching and recreational facilities.
