Longridge High School is based in the green and beautiful Ribble Valley. The school draws a truly comprehensive range of pupils.

We are looking for:

- an excellent teacher who believes every child has the potential to succeed in Science through developing teaching and learning that challenges and inspires young people

- someone who can teach all three Sciences at KS3 with a preferred specialism at KS4 of Chemistry or Physics.

We can provide: 

- a Science Department that has a clear plan for progression

- a strong ethos of high expectations and aspirations

- a location that is easily accessed from the M6 and M55.

Applications are welcome from Newly Qualified Teachers and main pay scale teachers. 

Working 2 days (Thursday and Friday). 

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'.

Essential: Teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status in Secondary Science. Good degree in Science or equivalent. An excellent classroom practitioner with a proven record of success. Experience of teaching Science at KS3 and KS4. Experience and evidence of impacting pupil achievement through all pupils making good or better progress, with evidence of intervention strategies employed. Experience and evidence of using robust tracking systems with the ability to use and interpret.

Longridge High School is a mixed, comprehensive, Church of England secondary school without sixth form situated in the town of Longridge in central Lancashire. It is a community state school under the Diocese of Blackburn. A smaller than average size for a secondary school, the school will provide 825 places for secondary school students between the ages of 11-16 when fully subscribed.

The school has a specialism in maths in computing, and is sometimes known by the name Longridge High School – A Maths and Computing College.
