Job overview

University Academy Long Sutton is a popular 11 -16 Academy in the rural market town of Long Sutton, and is part of The Lincolnshire Educational Trust. This may bring the opportunity to work across 2 sites.

Due to our rapid rate of expansion, we are looking to strengthen and grow our Science Department. We hope to appoint a dynamic Teacher of Science who is able to inspire pupils, be innovative and achieve outstanding results. This is an ideal and exciting opportunity for both newly qualified and more experienced teachers. The Academy provides extensive opportunities for Professional Development including links to LTSA, LLP and GPTSA which would particularly benefit newly qualified teachers and those wishing to progress to management. Indeed, a TLR might be available for a suitably experienced candidate.

The Science Department has had significant investment over recent years and is supported by a dedicated Technician. There is good ICT access for pupils within Science, with a specific ICT base for the Department. As well as the regular laboratories, the Department also has tiered lecture style facilities. The Department is well resourced and laptops are provided to all staff.  KS3 pupils follow an inspiring two-year practical course leading to Combined or Triple Science in KS4. There has been a significant investment over the summer on new texts both at KS3 and KS4 including an e-learning package. It is also planned to refurbish the Science labs during the Summer of 2021.

Visits to the Academy are welcomed and encouraged. For an informal discussion or to visit the Academy please contact Ellie Carter, Administrator to The Senior Leadership Team either by telephone 01406 362120 or email enquiries@uals.org.uk
