Teacher of Science - MPS/UPS for September 2023

We wish to appoint a Teacher of Science to join an excellent Science department from September 2023. Applications welcome from all specialisms. The post is suitable for ECTs (Early Careers Teachers) and experienced teachers.

You will be joining a skilled, energetic and committed team so we are seeking an outstanding candidate who can continue to raise the quality of provision to enable the best possible outcomes for all of our students.

About St Simon Stock Catholic School

St. Simon Stock Catholic School Founded in 1967 as a school of the Archdiocese of Southwark, the School recently celebrated 50 years of Catholic education serving Maidstone and the west of Kent. As a Catholic Comprehensive school of all abilities within a selective area, the School is known for its high standards of academic, vocational, sporting and pastoral achievements. Famous formed students include Shaun Williamson [actor], Harry Arter [Premier League footballer], David Ryan [Oxford University Golf Captain],etc.

We are an excellent school in all areas of Teaching and Learning. Our outcomes as a non selective School in a selective County [Kent] are outstanding with well above average ratings for the past three years since we have surpassed +0.5 for progress.

The School has a Sports Hall and Designated 6th Form Centre, specialist Science labs [the School has a Science specialism], Technology workshops, Muga sports facility.

CPD - involves a series of twilight sessions on areas identified by staff through appraisal; electives are created from courses attended by staff to feedback to colleagues; training for new areas e.g. LGBTQ,SEN, Pupil Premium, etc. A Senior Member of Staff has the encouragement of career progression as part of their role in addition to Performance Management and CPD in order to gain a holistic overview of training.

OFSTED - Section 5-Good; Section 48-Outstanding in all categories.
