Job overview

Manchester Secondary PRU is seeking to appoint a fully qualified outstanding, motivated, creative and inspirational KS3 Teacher of Science who is passionate about improving the life chances of pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from secondary education.

You will join a strong, supportive team in which you will be part of the operational delivery of an exciting KS3 Science programme to year 7 and 8 students across the city. The ability to teach another subject would be an advantage. Our core KS3 centres are in Blackley, Longsight and Chorlton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of KS3 science in the PRU.

This post will give you the opportunity to make a considerable impact on the future outcomes for students as we move from our Ofsted judgement of Good (Jan 2017) to Outstanding.

Many of our pupils are vulnerable and have complex needs. We work with parents, carers and a range of agencies and stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for them. Effective partnerships with High Schools and Academies are critical to achieving good and better progress for our students.

Manchester Secondary PRU is committed to safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all our staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS checking prior to starting.
