TEACHER OF SCIENCE—MPS/UPS (Maternity Cover)

Will consider part-time hours for the right candidate

We are seeking to appoint a skilled teacher of Science, with the ability to teach throughout the school from Key Stage 3 to at least Key Stage 4. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified and dynamic classroom teacher, committed to ensuring excellent outcomes for every student.

Science is taught to all students throughout Key Stage3; students have two 1 hour 40 minute lessons each week. At Key Stage 4 approximately 25% of the year group follow triple science courses at GCSE. Biology chemistry and physics are all offered at Key Stage 5 and several students go on to study science related courses at higher education each year. Examination outcomes at both GCSE and A-level are strong and improving.

The Science Faculty comprises 10 full time staff and several part time staff. The faculty is housed in a dedicated block, opened in November 2014 with 11 dedicated classrooms, and the faculty also has its own IT suite.
