Job overview

We require from June 2018 a motivated, committed and dynamic Teacher of Science to join this thriving and ‘Outstanding’ 11-18 Foundation school and department to cover a maternity leave. We expect that you will be able to teach Science across the KS3 and KS4 ability range.  The ability to teach to A-level Chemistry is desirable but not essential for this post. This vacancy is for Maternity Leave, part-time (Two terms), 0.4-0.6 FTE.

Bishop Heber High School is a mixed, non-denominational comprehensive school with a sixth form, there are 1280 students on roll aged 11-18. It is situated in the picturesque village of Malpas. The school has an enviable reputation for excellence both within its catchment area and far beyond. The school was founded in 1960.

Location

Malpas is a large village placed deep in the south Cheshire countryside. There are several pubs in the village as well as good quality local shopping. Malpas also hosts a regular Farmers’ Market. If you are looking to explore, Malpas is a great base for sightseeing with Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales just a stone’s throw away. Practically on your doorstep is the famous city of Chester, you can reach the city in 30 minutes and explore all the historic sites.
