Job overview

Vision for Education is urgently seeking a Key Stage 3/4 Science Teacher with the desire to work with children who have special educational needs, and in particular, social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) for our client school in Durham.  We would welcome applications from NQT's with the desire and personality required to make an impact upon students' lives as well as their education. This role is due to start in September and will be a five day a week, long term role, with the possibility of becoming permanent in the future.

This provision supports students who have been identified by their mainstream provision as being at risk of permanent exclusion due to their presenting behaviours.

The ideal candidate will have in depth subject knowledge as well as being able to quickly adapt and integrate into the school's culture and ethos. The school is looking for someone with a positive and calming influence in what can often be a difficult environment. Personality and empathy are key to quickly establishing relationships with some of the region’s most disaffected young learners.

In return you will be rewarded with a generous remuneration package, access to specialist SEN training courses (such as Team Teach and Autism awareness) and regular social evenings funded by the company. As well as this you will be working with a dedicated team of consultants that put the well-being of our staff and schools above profit margins. Vision for Education are dedicated to Safeguarding and all applicants are required to have undertaken an Enhanced Disclosure by the DBS, full assistance provided.
