TEACHER OF SCIENCE—MPS/UPS

Required for September 2019

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Science to join our team of highly committed scientists. Candidates must have the ability to teach science throughout the school from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 and Chemistry to Key Stage 5. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply and we offer a fully supported programme for newly qualified teachers, including regular subject specific mentoring and whole school training. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified and committed to ensuring excellent outcomes for every student..

Science is taught as a core subject at KS3 and KS4, with many students wishing to pursue the Separate Science (Triple Science) course at KS4. Science at KS5 is popular and Chemistry in particular, is traditionally one of the best performing A Level subjects at the school.

The Science Faculty is comprised of 11 full time and 5 part time teaching staff, with the support of 4 technicians. The faculty is housed in a purpose built science block, opened in November 2014, with 11 dedicated laboratories. The faculty also has access to dedicated IT suites.
