Job overview

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Science Teacher to join us at NIA. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the UK curriculum, and will bring enthusiasm and a passion for science to help students to make excellent progress.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop whole school experience in a creative and innovative environment. Versatility and experience will be key attributes for a fast-paced environment. Potential is as important as experience and we welcome applications from newly qualified teachers. A full and supportive NQT programme is provided. Northampton International Academy is a local school with a global vision and this is at the very core of our curriculum offer.

Every school in the East Midlands Academy Trust (EMAT) is committed to providing the highest standard of education so that all children are supported to be the best that they can be. This will be achieved by the delivery of a well-planned and highly effective curriculum which is driven by our values. We believe in the transformational power of education. Transformation is in the very fabric of our building, having been transformed from the derelict and disused Royal Mail sorting office into a state-of-the-art educational facility.

In addition to our subject-based curriculum, our character education has been introduced throughout our all-through school as its DNA from reception through to Year 13.  This character curriculum helps to prepare children for future learning and their adult lives. Focusing on the characteristics of Responsibility, Collaboration, Respect, Care, Excellence and Aspiration, our DNA of NIA complements our subject curriculum and our House system.

As a school, we are still growing. Therefore, we have a range of exciting opportunities. Please do watch the video of our school poem 'What We Are Made Of' to get to know us better. https://youtu.be/X8HFh1OarE4

By working for our Trust, you’ll be able to take advantage of a wealth of professional development and support opportunities, as well as a range of employee benefits.

These include:

·        Continuous professional development and training opportunities

·        Dedicated support from our school improvement team

·        Career and leadership opportunities within our growing family of schools

·        A Trust employee forum with representatives from across the organisation

·        A confidential 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme

·        Childcare vouchers scheme

·        A corporate eye care plan

·        Flu jabs for all staff

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). References will be taken up before interviews are offered
