Job overview

Bluecoat Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Science to join our committed, successful and forward-looking teams. The multi academy Trust is growing and this appointment comes at a key time when Bluecoat is fulfilling its ambitions to support a growing number of young people’s learning. This growth, together with the opportunity to join an organisation with a large, supportive and talented Senior Leadership Team, will provide an excellent development opportunity for the post holder.

The successful candidate will demonstrate their passion for their subject, together with excellent subject knowledge and will possess the ability to consistently teach inspirational lessons.

Bluecoat Academy is at the lead of Bluecoat Academies Trust – a newly-established growing family of academies built on the success of our 300-year history. We are ambitious about achieving an outstanding future and are looking for an outstanding Teacher of Science to join us at this exciting time.

The academy is highly successful and oversubscribed, with a clear commitment to raising achievement and curriculum innovation. We have received praise from OFSTED, enjoy very good examination results and obtain positive value added. We are ambitious to become a world class provider of outstanding education and endeavor to be a distinctive and inclusive educational community with a strong Christian framework.

Bluecoat Beechdale Academy (previously Hadden Park High School) formally joined the Trust in April 2014 and the academies are working closely together to make Bluecoat Beechdale Academy as successful as it can be. It is a growing school and although not formally designated as a Church of England academy, it shares the ethos and many of the Bluecoat values.

The creation of our Church of England Primary School which opened in January 2015 is the most recent stage of the Trust’s growth and presents exciting opportunities for cross phase learning and integral links between primary and secondary provision.

We can offer:

  • Proven history of very successful public examination results;
  • Teaching and learning at the heart of the Trust with considerable time and energy devoted to supporting our staff in becoming outstanding teachers;
  • Excellent NQT provision which was recently rated as outstanding by assessors.
  • Employee discounts and well-being scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Childcare voucher scheme
