Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to teach Key Stages 3 and 4 this coming academic year, and then Key Stage 5 when our Sixth Form opens in September 2022. The Department currently consists of three full-time and one part-time member of staff, led by the Head of Science.
Science is taught in Year 7 and Year 8 before separating into Physics, Biology and Chemistry from Year 9 onwards. Pupils opt for either Combined or Separate Science in Year 10 for their GCSE options, where the split is roughly 50:50. The Department has three purpose-built labs on site for 11-16 with a further three planned for Sixth Form use. All science teachers contribute to the teaching of Science for KS3 and may deliver Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons where required at GCSE.
