We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, energetic and enthusiastic teacher of Science with a passion for their subject to join our Senior School.  This new post has arisen due to the internal promotion of the Head of Science. 

The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and be able to motivate pupils through inspirational teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join a thriving school that is undergoing a very exciting time in its development and we welcome your interest in being part of our continuing journey. 

This post is suitable for an experienced teacher looking for an exciting, fresh opportunity where your passion and ideas will be welcomed enthusiastically, or a newly qualified teacher looking seeking to widen their experience for their first teaching role in a supportive and happy school.

All staff at Long Close are actively involved in the pastoral life of school. The role will also offer the opportunity for further contribution to the varied and vibrant array of extra-curricular clubs and enrichment.

You will:

• Be able to teach Science at KS3 - KS4

• Be willing to teach Year 6

• Be highly motivated and an excellent classroom practitioner who can ensure good progress for all

• Have a creative, forward thinking attitude and inspire pupils to succeed in Science

• Be unapologetically passionate about your subject

• Be committed to working collaboratively as part of a team and across the school;

• Be willing to think creatively and take risks in the classroom;

• Be hard-working with excellent organisational skills:

A superb opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, talented and ambitious individual to contribute significantly to the Science department at Long Close.

Science is valued highly at the school, and the post holder will be committed to raising standards at all levels; delivering excellent lessons and enthusing pupils through their passion for the subject. 

The successful candidate will be able to teach Science to pupils of all abilities across Key Stages 3 to 4, bring enthusiasm, meticulous standards and a commitment to achieving the highest levels of academic success.  There are approximately 96 Year 7-11 pupils on roll.
