Wollaston School is a large, rural community school located in a village setting about 15 minutes drive from Northampton. The student intake draws on nearby villages and the towns of Earls Barton, Wellingborough, and Irchester. We have over 1400 students on roll with approximately 240 students in the Sixth Form. The school is over-subscribed. Wollaston School was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in April 2017.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled Teacher of Science with a physics specialism, with the ability to teach science throughout the school from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 and physics to Key Stage 5. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply and we offer a fully supported programme for newly qualified teachers, including regular subject specific mentoring and whole school training. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified and dynamic classroom teacher, committed to ensuring excellent outcomes for every student.

The Science Faculty is comprised of 6 full time and 12 part time teaching staff, with the support of 3 technicians. The faculty is housed in a purpose built science block, opened in November 2014, with 11 dedicated laboratories. The faculty also has access to dedicated IT suites.
