Wollaston School is a large, rural community school located in a village setting about 15 minutes drive from Northampton. The student intake draws on nearby villages and the towns of Earls Barton, Wellingborough, and Irchester. We have over 1400 students on roll with approximately 240 students in the Sixth Form. The school is over-subscribed. Wollaston School was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in April 2017.

TEACHER OF SCIENCE (PHYSICS)—MPS/UPS
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of Science at Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4, who can offer physics as a specialism at Key Stage 5. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply, and we offer a fully supported induction programme, including regular subject specific mentoring and whole school training. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified and motivated classroom teacher, committed to ensuring excellent outcomes for every student.
Science is a core subject taught to all students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. At Key Stage 4, we offer combined science and separate science courses. Biology, chemistry & physics are all offered at Key Stage 5 and many of these students go on to study science related courses at degree level. Examination outcomes at both GCSE & A-level are strong and constantly improving.
The Science Faculty comprises of 11 full time and 5 part time teaching staff, with the support of 4 technicians (3 Full-time equivalents). The faculty is housed in a dedicated block, opened in November 2014, with 11 dedicated laboratories. The faculty also has its own IT suites. We run a STEM club with students and work closely with The Institute of Physics and The Ogden Trust.
