Job overview

Recruitment and retention allowance available for outstanding candidate

We are seeking exuberant, enthusiastic and highly skilled professionals to teach our students in a department that has secured substantial improvement in the last year, at both GCSE and A Level.

We believe that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well. The reward of seeing our young people engaged, enjoying and successful in their learning, complimented by involvement in sports, art, culture and other wider curricular endeavours, far outweighs the relentless efforts that we put into our everyday duties.

2014/ 2015 saw some very pleasing improvements, namely;

  • Students making 3 LOP in English rose to 73 % (which is in line with National Average)
  • Students making 4 LOP in English rose to 31 %
  • Average Point Score/ Student at A Level rose to 633
  • Average Point Score/ Student at L3 Vocational rose to 728

Our sponsors, the Wolverhampton University and the academy make no apology for placing a high priority on excellent behaviour, attendance, respect, self-discipline and highest standards of uniform as an expected norm.

Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate how they satisfy the person specification, but more specifically;

  • A proven ability to lead effective teaching and learning across a department that results in all students making good progress in Science in all Key Stages.
  • An ability to motivate, support and challenge a team of staff in their professional role as effective educators of children.
  • Consistently good and outstanding pupil progress over time.
  • Excellent planning that caters for all students and groups of student’s needs.
  • A relentless attention to detail and the highest professional standards and student expectations.
  • Hardworking.

If you are willing to go the extra mile and share our ambition to provide an outstanding education to fantastic children, then we would welcome your application.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed and encouraged, please contact Hays Education to arrange this.

Ofsted

“Students speak highly of all aspects of the sixth form. They could explain how they are helped to keep safe from issues such as radicalisation and know how to form strong relationships through work done in assemblies. They appreciate the support they receive from tutors and feel the sixth form is well led.”
