Job overview

The Hurlingham Academy is part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. By collecting expertise and combining resources, we help to make the tough job of teaching a little easier.

With a shared curriculum and lesson plans from around the group available to all, our teachers have strong foundations to lead the engaging, rounded education our children deserve. Our intranet site, United Hub, is just one example of how we share this resource and communicate across sites, helping to simplify processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

We reward our staff: with wide career opportunities – between Primary and Secondary, Academy and Independent – better pay, benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of helping every child at each of our schools to succeed and reach their full potential.

Teaching Science at The Hurlingham Academy, you’ll be free to inspire and innovate. Here, you’ll discover a calm and friendly classroom environment - it’s the perfect place to share your love of the subject. Bringing real ambition to every lesson, you’ll make learning exciting and relevant. What’s more, you’ll have the opportunity to develop weekly extra-curricular activities that make Science come to life.

Our school is continually improving, achieving better results every year. We’re making a big investment in improving Science too - so you’ll join a dynamic, collaborative and supportive team with fully refurbished facilities. You’ll be second in charge of the team, making this a great opportunity to develop leadership skills in a school that takes prides in its sense of community.

Like all of us at The Hurlingham Academy, you’ll make it your mission to bring out the best in everyone - students, staff, parents and the wider community. We’re confident our school will exceed your expectations - and you’ll help our students to do the same, with teaching that improves their life chances.

Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic, you bring passion and creativity to the teaching of Science across KS3 - KS4. With some years of experience under your belt, you demonstrate great curriculum knowledge, together with the drive to keep improving and innovating as a teacher.
