Job overview

We wish to appoint a Teacher of Science on a temporary contract, to cover maternity, from January 2017. Ideally the successful candidate will be able to teach the chemistry elements of our current GCSE courses. Applications are welcomed from candidates seeking a full time position, although a part-time position of around 0.8fte is also a possibility.

Science results at Belvidere have been strong for many years, and the successful candidate will join an exceptionally strong team of teachers.

Belvidere School is a successful, oversubscribed 11-16 comprehensive school in the county town of Shrewsbury. Exam results are excellent. Our figures for 5 A*-C (including English and Maths) and our Value Added scores are consistently high. In 2013 Ofsted rated the school as “Outstanding” in all areas.

Based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Belvidere School is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school for children aged between 11 and 16. It is a non-denominational community establishment. At present, there are approximately 850 students enrolled at the school.

In Summer 2024 we will be moving into a brand new state-of-the-art school building, which is an exciting development in the life of our school.
