Job overview
We are looking to appoint an innovative, highly motivated individual to deliver Science. The successful candidate must, however, be able to teach Physics to GCSE level and be able to inspire and motivate students to achieve the best possible outcomes. The position is 0.6, but could be full time for the right candidate. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher with the ability, experience and skills to play a pivotal role in maximising the learning potential of students in the Science Department and the wider school. This post would suit a qualified teacher or NQT.

St Martins School is a mixed, non-denominational academy for pupils aged 3-16, located near Oswestry in Shropshire. It is a state community school that converted to academy status in 2016 and is now part of The 3-18 Education Trust. The school will provide 660 places when fully subscribed.
St Martins was established in 2012, combining Ifton Heath Primary School with Rhyn Park School and Performing Arts College to create Shropshire’s first all-through school.

Owing to its relatively small size, St Martins prides itself on being able to focus on students individually. It ensures learners are happy and safe in their environment, providing a supportive and nurturing family ethos. The school values academic and social development. It ensures that all children are treated as unique and celebrated for their differences and strengths. Pupils are provided with a challenging and rewarding curriculum.
The academy works in collaboration with a number of schools in the local community, including Moreton Hall School, which enables students to use their science equipment. It also works with Gobowen, Weston Rhyn and Selattyn schools to deliver a community-focused curriculum to enhance pupils’ learning experiences.

“Outcomes in the early years are good. Pupils make good progress and are well prepared for the next stage of their education. The headteacher has managed the amalgamation of the two schools very well, bringing together two disparate communities. The school has a strong, unified ethos.”
