An outstanding teacher of Science is required for September 2018 to join a committed and hard-working department. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and NQTs. The Science department at Tudor Grange Solihull consists of 13 specialist teachers who work closely as a team. The department has close links to other schools in the Tudor Grange family. A wide range of teaching and learning strategies are used in the delivery of Science including a focus on developing students’ independence and spontaneity.
High quality teaching, delivered by forward-thinking, creative classroom practitioners is at the heart of successful learning in the science department of Tudor Grange. Within the department we aim to create a positive working environment where students are given every opportunity to achieve to their potential. It is also important to us that members of staff feel valued and that they are supported fully in both their teaching and professional development.
Students are inducted into the department initially during the summer term of Year 6. They then follow the Collins Activate programme for KS3 science which is delivered and assessed in biology, chemistry and physics units. Our students transfer into their Key Stage 4 studies at the end of Year 8. Our current year 10 and 11 cohort follow the OCR gateway scheme, with students taking both core/additional and separate science routes. Our current year 9 cohort are following the AQA Science trilogy route with the option to move onto the AQA separate science route during year 10.

Tudor Grange Academy is an outstanding 11-18 comprehensive school situated in South Solihull in the West Midlands. Our results place the Academy in the top 5 of non-selective schools in the country and reinforces our reason for expanding and therefore offering some fantastic opportunities. In 2017 our Progress 8 score was +0.5 and our Attainment 8 was 58.9.
