It is my great privilege to be able to introduce you to the Market Weighton School. We are a small school, proud of our traditional rural heritage, yet ambitious for the future of all our students. Our size is a real strength as it enables students and their families to work closely with the teaching and support staff at the school, building positive working relationships over an extended period of time. We believe that students achieve best in a supportive and positive environment – and that is what you will find in our school. All our students follow a curriculum that focuses on academic as well as personal qualities, including student’s social and emotional development. The school views both strands as complementary and as such prepares students for the society into which they will emerge, a society marked by rapid technological and social change.

We believe that all students have an entitlement to a knowledge rich curriculum regardless of ability or background. We have an inclusive ethos adapting the curriculum to meet the needs of all our students.

Student wellbeing is paramount and students benefit from positive relationships with staff. As a result, students feel secure and able to focus on their learning.
