We are seeking to appoint two dynamic and inspirational full time science teachers for September 2017. Physics and biology are both specialisms that the school requires to most effectively cover the entire range required for GCSE and A level science in the school. We are keen to appoint colleagues who are excellent practitioners and, therefore, we would be delighted to accept applications from high calibre candidates with other specialisms.
This role would suit an NQT or an experienced qualified teacher, ideally with a Science degree. You will be required to teach all , biology, physics and chemistry to KS3 and KS4. The ability to teach to A level in your specialist field would be distinctive advantage, though not a limiting criteria. The calibre of candidates as teachers is our foremost criteria in making this appointment.
Our school a successful 11 – 18 Catholic High School with 838 on roll (110 in the Sixth Form). The Catholic ethos of the school is paramount, as is the liturgical life of the school and this is strongly supported by all staff, our feeder primary schools and local parishes.
The school is a strong proponent of continuing professional development and encourages staff to develop in line with well researched evidenced based approaches to improving the teaching practice of our great staff.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the Catholic ethos of the school, specifically in being a form tutor. Blessed William Howard is a Catholic school embracing children of all faiths; not a school exclusively for children who are Catholic by faith.
Our mission statement clearly states our principles. We know that a school that lives these principles is one where children thrive, parents have confidence and staff are nurtured and developed; all experience the “fullness of life” in their time at the school.
