We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Science to further strengthen our science faculty. Applications are welcome from colleagues (with QTS) at all stages of their career, including ECTs, who are committed to raising achievement in science who believe they have the skills, passion and determination to lead our academy science education to outstanding.

The successful candidate will be passionate in science and securing successful outcomes for our students. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who will actively and positively promote science within the academy and will teach engaging and challenging lessons to enable our pupils to progress and achieve.  You will also play a vital role in fostering curiosity and critical thinking among our students.

Ormiston Meridian Academy is a thriving secondary academy in the south of the city, serving 11–16-year-old students. Our ambition statement is ‘Shaping Lives, Building Ambition and Igniting Futures’ and every decision we make and action we take is to ensure our students flourish as young adults. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse extra-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. We all work together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood. 

Our Science Faculty is very successful with plenty of experience and expertise, making it an ideal faculty to be a part of. The team work collaboratively and support one another brilliantly, they are united in the ambition to be the very best they can be, and give the best to their students. Leaders provide a clear and strategic approach to the curriculum, teaching and assessment approaches ensuring new members of the team have schemes of learning and lesson resources to hit the ground running.

We will support staff to make positive choices for their own wellbeing and encourage a collegiate culture across and between all roles in the academy.
