Job overview

Why do you want to be a Teacher of Science at Breckland School?

The answer is a simple one, this is an exciting opportunity to join our school following its “Good” Ofsted inspection in November 2022, to help achieve ‘excellence’ in all we do, and this includes our people.

We will offer:

  • Job satisfaction through making a positive impact on our student’s lives
  • Friendly and supportive working environment
  • Supportive and positive management
  • Investment in your training and development
  • Bespoke teacher development programmes supported by our Teaching School Hub
  • Excellent career development opportunities in our school and across the trust including secondments to other trust schools
  • Evidence informed research opportunities via our Research School and programmes to reduce teacher workload including the development of the CUSP curriculum and other programmes the staff within our schools benefit from
  • Wellbeing support service and staff wellbeing day
  • Trust wide professional development and wellbeing day for all staff

You want to be part of a team of like-minded individuals driving the Science education at Breckland School to deliver an exceptionally rich curriculum, which develops students into scientists with a passion who achieve exceptionally.

You will work as part of the faculty to deliver high quality lessons, collaborate on curriculum and pedagogical development in line with whole school priorities, aiming for excellence in all you and your students do.

You should have a proven track record of success in the teaching of Science at both Key Stage 3 and 4. Experience of teaching is desirable but ultimately if you have the passion, skill and motivation we want to hear from you. ECTs are welcome to apply.

This is an opportunity for an existing teacher to further their development as part of a forward-thinking MAT to benefit from our supportive model for staff CPD and career development.

It is important to belong at work and the work you do is relied upon by our students, so even small positive differences which are made, make people very happy. We want to ensure you have a good work life balance and one of the ways we achieve this is by having a two-week autumn half term break.

You can view a full list of requirements and further information about the school and Trust in the candidate pack. If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role, even if you don’t meet all the requirements, please apply as we may be able to support you in any areas for development or we may have alternative roles that are a good fit for you. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
