Job overview

We are an 11-16 academy, based in the metropolitan borough of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, near Leeds. We aim to promote the highest standards of academic achievement through inspiring teaching and learning, with a curriculum designed to stretch and enrich our students’ experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic, driven professionals to join our amazing Academy and our Family of Schools. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject is essential as is a passion for Science. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’. Your relentless drive will ensure our students gain the best possible outcomes. Applications are invited from both newly qualified and experienced professionals.

The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2018 and as part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust we are determined to fully support colleagues within our Outwood Family both professionally and personally. We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

In addition to this success, we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all staff receiving a minimum of two hours’ CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including a health cash plan, a cycle to work scheme, plus a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy, with offers exclusively for Outwood colleagues.
