WREKIN COLLEGE

HMC Co-educational Boarding and Day 11 - 18

Required for September 2018

Teacher of Science

(Full time)

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of science to join our successful department. There may be an opportunity to advance to a departmental management role in the reasonably near future. This full-time job within the Science Department arises from the increase in pupil numbers studying within the Department. Applications will be welcomed from candidates who can teach any of the sciences to the full range of abilities and age groups up to at least GCSE, but preferably to A level.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational subject teacher, with enthusiasm, drive, initiative and good communication skills. Some flexibility is available in the share of the teaching load across the department due to commitments of staff in other areas of the school, hence this post could be fulfilled by a full-time teacher of any of the science disciplines. An ability to teach a second science subject to junior level or to GCSE would also be an advantage. Consideration will be given to suitably qualified applicants with an aptitude to teach science to A level who have not yet had the opportunity to obtain this experience.

Wrekin College is a busy school set within its own attractive and spacious grounds.  A willingness to be fully involved in the school’s co-curricular programme and the life of the school is important.

Accommodation may be available for the successful candidate.

Application forms and further details of the post are available from www.wrekincollege.com, the Headmaster’s PA on 01952 265602 or by e-mail from headmaster@wrekincollege.com. The completed forms with full curriculum vitae and letter of application should be sent to hr@wrekincollege.com by Sunday 25th February 2018.

Wrekin College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be subject to a criminal records check.
