Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Academy for an enthusiastic and inspirational Science teacher who can take the lead on developing the quality of STEM teaching and learning, and co-ordinate STEM related events.

This is a new post due to the continued expansion of the School. The L.E.A has committed to an additional £1million of funding to support our popular and oversubscribed Academy.

You will join a well-resourced and up to date faculty which places a high emphasis on investigative work and where active learning and experimentation are encouraged.

The successful candidate will be an innovative and committed professional who has vision for science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and the ability to inspire students to achieve excellent results. The ability to offer KS5 in a STEM subject would be an advantage.

Please visit our website www.theockendonacademy.com for Job Description, Person Specification and Application form, or alternatively contact Helen Smith on 01708 851661 for an application pack. Academy visits are warmly welcomed.

The Ockendon Academy and Ockendon Studio School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
