TEACHER OF SCIENCE with TLR (focus and level to be determined according to experience and interest)

Required September 2018

Are you passionate about your subject and about how to engage young people so they achieve their very best? Do you enjoy working with others to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning in science?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or NQT to join our highly committed, supportive and experienced Science Faculty.  Staff morale is high at our school; we have an excellent induction programme and a commitment to professional development for all staff. All teaching staff are provided with a laptop.

All science disciplines will be considered and there may be an opportunity to teach across the age and ability range including A level for a suitably experienced candidate.  The sciences are very popular A Level choices and a significant number of our students progress to science-based courses at university.

Our Science Faculty is well resourced and as a Science Specialist College you will have access to a range of exciting activities and initiatives including STEM.  The successful candidate will want to bring their passion and enthusiasm for science to encourage, motivate and engage our students and continue to raise standards in this high performing faculty.

Our oversubscribed school achieved a ‘GOOD’ rating in its Ofsted inspection in February 2017 and we have a commitment to supporting students in developing as well-rounded individuals as well as achieving their academic potential.

Great Baddow High School is very well thought of locally.  Our motto, which translates as ‘always striving for higher things’ encapsulates our vision for our students and staff.

Pre-application visits are warmly encouraged particularly during the working day in order to view our students and teachers working together in well-equipped, specialist classrooms, using modern technologies and resources.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Please apply by downloading the application form or alternatively contact Yvette DeFeo on 01245 293711 or email on recruitment@gbhs.co.uk please leave your name, address, telephone number and email details.    Closing date: Monday 23rd April 2018
