Teacher of SEND/English Teacher

Maternity cover
This post is suitable for NQTs.
We are looking for an inspirational and talented SEND or English teacher to build upon our work developing literacy and numeracy with students with learning difficulties. A KS2 primary teacher would also be considered as many students are working at this level.
As an outstanding teacher you will be ambitious for our students and community and will support our inclusive ethos. You will support our students with learning difficulties focusing on improving their literacy and numeracy skills. You will work with students in Key Stage 3 as well as contributing to teaching students at Key Stage 4. Your role will be to teach the English curriculum to small classes of students who struggle to access the mainstream curriculum in a full size class, and to develop and teach bespoke programmes to small groups of students enabling them to meet their individual literacy and numeracy targets so that they may make progress across the wider curriculum.
What we are looking for:
A teacher who:
- is passionate about and committed to enabling all students to fulfil their potential regardless of their starting point
- has a clear understanding of how students learn
- has a comprehensive knowledge of the reading process
- has good diagnostic skills
- can monitor and review student progress in line with individual targets, and maintain clear records of this progress.
We take staff development very seriously and SLT are very visible. We are a friendly and inclusive school and offer a variety of staff benefits including travel loans, cycle to work scheme and an early finish on a Friday.
