Teacher of Social Sciences

Here at Woodkirk Academy we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher of Social Sciences to join our innovative and successful department achieving excellent examination results year on year. The ideal candidate will be able to offer at least two disciplines (Sociology, Psychology, Health and Social Care) across Key Stages 4 and 5. Applications from NQT’s would be welcomed.

To succeed in the role, you will have:

• A degree, or equivalent experience, with a teaching qualification. 
• A strong track record of outstanding teaching. 
• The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to further the department. 
• Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills.
• A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues.
• The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds.
• A clear commitment to improving their own and others performance through effective continuous professional development.
