About Us

Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2019, our Progress 8 score of +1.57 has been recognised as the 4th highest in the country by the Department for Education. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over 50% of pupils leaving us went on to Russell Group Universities to study a range of academic subjects. In September 2020, Wembley High will also be welcoming pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 for two years while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come.

The Modern Foreign Languages Department

We are looking for a teacher who can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department and teach Spanish across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. At GCSE, Spanish is a highly popular subject which is studied by more than 90% of the cohort; pupils study the AQA Spanish specification and have the opportunity to complete their GCSE in Year 10 and then go on to study related qualifications such as GCSE Portuguese. This provides a stepping stone for A-Level Spanish, which is a popular A-level subject each year. Students also have the option to choose to study GCSE French in Years 9-11 and achieve a GCSE in this subject. In Spanish, pupils strive to succeed at the highest levels; in 2019, 90% of pupils achieved grades 9 – 4 in Spanish GCSE with 59% awarded grades 9 – 7. At A-Level, 100% of pupils achieved A* - C grades. Due to the success and popularity of the subject, an increasing number of pupils are choosing to study Spanish at university.
