The Modern Foreign Languages Department at Forest is a thriving and happy environment, consisting of ten well-qualified teachers who are dedicated to stimulating lasting pupil curiosity in languages and enabling them to achieve excellent results in external examinations.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a part time, Teacher of Spanish to join us. The successful candidate will contribute to the continuing development of this highly successful department. The post would suit a first-rate and ambitious teacher, who is passionate about language teaching and keen to develop their career within a thriving school.

Pupils joining Forest in Year 7 are required to study two modern foreign languages choosing from French, German, Spanish and, from September 2017, Mandarin. Numbers are healthy throughout the Senior School with all pupils studying at least one language to GCSE standard and many choosing to study two. Pupils at Forest study for the IGCSE (Edexcel) in modern foreign languages.

There are currently over 30 pupils studying a modern foreign language at A Level and pupils are preparing for the new Edexcel specification in French, German and Spanish. The Department maintains an excellent track record of preparing pupils for Higher Education and throughout the school we strive to allow pupils to derive interest and enjoyment from their study of languages.
