About the Role

John Henry Newman Catholic College is an oversubscribed and high-performing 11-19 College, serving an area of high economic deprivation. As part of the Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company (OLAAS MAC), we are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Spanish to join our Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department. The successful candidate will be an effective classroom practitioner with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of supporting and contributing to a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Spanish lessons across all key stages.
  • Promote a passion for languages and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
  • Use innovative teaching strategies to engage and support students of all abilities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted interventions where necessary.
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the MFL Department.
  • Participate in wider school activities and initiatives, including extracurricular clubs.
  • Act as a form tutor and support the pastoral development of students.
  • Uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the College.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Be passionate about Spanish and able to teach across all ages and abilities.
  • Be a highly motivated and adaptable team player.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high standards and excellent student outcomes.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
