Finham Park School is the Lead School in the recently established Finham Park Multi Academy Trust. Primary and Secondary schools in Finham Park MAT will set out to pioneer, innovate and deliver a “World Class” education for all. 

Finham Park School was judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2015 for the second time. It is a Specialist College in Mathematics & Computing, a National Support School, and Leading Edge School. It is highly over-subscribed with a Sixth Form of over 300 students. In 2016 Finham Park was certified as a “World Class” school - a place where all our students develop a love of “learning for life”. 

The Modern Foreign Languages department is one of the larger departments in the school and is well regarded and successful; in the summer our MFL students achieved 84.3% A*- C grades at GCSE and 75% A*-B at A Level. The department offers a range of courses to the students from the Mandarin Excellence Programme and Enrichment Mandarin to GCSE French, Spanish, Mandarin and A Level Spanish and French or Pre-U Mandarin, as well as experiences to promote a love of the subject. We have the International Schools Award in recognition of our links with other countries and have established partner schools in Noyon, St Etienne and Grenoble in France, in Almeria in Spain and in Shanghai in China. It has Confucius Classroom status which means we welcome Hanban teachers from China each year to assist with our delivery of Mandarin. Finham Park has a team of outstanding languages teachers and an ethos of support and collaboration; one of the MFL department’s strongest selling points is how supportive the teachers are towards each other, sharing good practice as well as challenges. We work with other schools within the area which has enabled us to develop our own practice as well as helping other teachers in the local area. These partnerships have been strengthened with the work that we do with our partner primary schools and within our MAT. 

The department has a wealth of experience and this post would suit a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher who is looking for a change. The department is highly creative in both teaching and learning, and strategy, and is looking for somebody to bring interesting new ideas to the table. As a department we are very well resourced; any new member of staff will have their own classroom with a projector. We also have a set of Nexus tablets within the department.

This is an exciting time for the department at Finham Park because it is developing links across the city and MAT, allowing for high quality collaboration to pioneer good practice and constantly improve. The MAT is an active body for the department providing opportunities for students and staff to work together and create opportunities. The department is looking for a strong teacher to complement this time of growth and development.

The Governors are seeking to appoint an innovative and highly motivated individual to join a strong and enthusiastic team of teachers who are committed to delivering a high quality, lively, interesting, and engaging curriculum to challenge and inspire all our students. The successful candidate will be required to teach Spanish to Key Stages 3 and 4 and KS5, and French at least to Key Stage 3.
